UNEP - United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority and the environmental voice of the United Nations. UNEP’s work is focused on the areas of Climate Change, Disasters and Conflicts, Ecosystem Management, Environmental Governance, Chemicals and Waste, Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Consumption and Production, and Environment Under Review. Providing technical expertise and advisory services to countries and stakeholders to promote efficient use of natural capital and reduce environmental degradation and with it, risks to both people and the environment, much of UNEP’s work is carried out in partnership with governments, technical agencies, academia, research institutions, the private sector and United Nations Country Teams.

APAN – The Asia Pacific Adaptation Network, developed and launched by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in 2009 under the Global Adaptation Network (GAN), is the first regional adaptation network. APAN is an open network that strives to equip adaptation actors in the region with knowledge for designing and implementing adaptation measures, building capacity to access technologies and finance, and integrating climate change adaptation into policies, strategies, and plans towards building climate change resilient and sustainable human systems, ecosystems, and economies. 

Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment - Government of Sri Lanka ministry providing the leadership in the management of the environment and natural resources of the country, maintaining the equilibrium between the trends in rapid economic development and use of its natural resources base. The Ministry plays a key role in spearheading Sri Lanka’s national landmark campaign ‘Sri Lanka Next’, which was formally initiated on 6th January 2016 under the aegis of President Maithripala Sirisena, who is also the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment. This campaign aims to integrate all sections of the Sri Lankan society to participate in Sri Lanka’s journey towards the global vision to limit the rise of global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius.
