There are many adaptation funds that support adaptation projects/activities -but it can be difficult to make sense of them all because they vary in support type, geographic focus, and sectoral focus. Fortunately, several initiatives have created directories of these adaptation funds complete with summary information, and links to resources to help with the application process. While these directories have overlapping content, they do differ in terms of funds they cover, and the information they provide. Here are three of the best directories I have come across:
Despite all the rhetoric about billions of dollars from developed countries for climate change, in reality there is little funding for adaptation and most international funds require developing countries to go through an intermediary like a multilateral development bank or UN agency.
