This issue of Southasiadisasters.net focuses on the important theme of Climate Compatible Development in India. As an emerging humanitarian ideal, climate compatible development can be described as the interface between development, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

It strives to initiate short and long term adaptation measures that can lead to a resilient future and help in the achievement of nationally and internationally agreed development goals. This issue of Southasiadisasters.net contains articles that provide some of the experiences and expertise of the individuals and organizations that have strived towards this ideal in India.
