Toward a Legal Framework for Coastal Adaptation: Assessing the First Steps in Europe and Australia

This article sets out the policy, legislative and judicial responses to coastal adaptation in the Netherlands, England, and Australia. It identifies and discusses elements of the international and domestic frameworks that are considered essential for effective adaptation. The article concludes that an integrated approach to coastal adaptation law is currently needed to lay the foundations of the required long-term strategy.
