Mainstreaming Climate Change into Community Development Strategies and Plans: A Case Study in Thailand

SHARE THIS PAGE:

This case study in Lao-oi district demonstrates how climate change can be mainstreamed into a local community development plan. The case study explains how adaptation was incorporated into the plan to address risks and vulnerabilities associated with rice-farming, the main source of livelihood in the community. The findings reveal that a paradigm shift toward mainstreaming climate change into development planning, and away from addressing adaptation separately from development, has to occur at the level of sub-district administration for the success of adaptation measures.
