SHARE THIS PAGE:

Both the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network and the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Knowledge Platform for Asia (Adaptation Knowledge Platform) share their common objective of establishing a regional knowledge sharing mechanism in Asia and the Pacific region with an aim to promote exchange of existing information and knowledge related to climate change adaptation. One of the main activities for the achievement of this objective is to facilitate governments in the region to build a national climate change knowledge management platform. Knowledge management is key to successful adaptation, for adaptation planning and practices require expertise from multiple disciplines to address specific needs at multiple levels and in multiple sectors. Therefore, successful adaptation policies and actions are necessarily dependent on effective knowledge management to provide the sound information and knowledge base.

In response to the need of Mongolia as suggested by the Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and the Mongolian State University of Agriculture (MSUA), the brainstorming workshop for the establishment of a national climate change knowledge management platform in Mongolia was held at the MSUA in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on 26 and 27 May 2011. The workshop was co-organised by the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network, Adaptation Knowledge Platform and MSUA.
