Developing Adaptation Policy and Practice in Europe: Multi-level Governance of Climate Change
The book takes a multi-level governance perspective on adaptation, looking at its policy development in European countries, and includes a theoretical framework on it. It elaborates on the EU context for adaptation; multi level cases of adaptation in relation to water in UK, Finland, Sweden and Italy, and a survey of adaptation in industrialized EU and non-EU countries. The book concludes by discussing policy in the cases and shows that the different paths chosen in the different cases can be related to administrative culture including centrality of government and the role of local and regional actors including networks.
