  • All participants are required to fill-up and submit an online registration form. Click here to go to the online registration form. After you submit the form online, a confirmation will be sent to acknowledge your participation in the forum.

  • Is there any registration fee for participation in the Adaptation Forum 2010?
  • No, there is no registration fee for participation. Registration is free for all.

  • Can I download the brochure of the forum?
  • Yes, please click here to download the brochure.

  • Who are the facilitators and keynote speakers of the forum?
  • The sessions will be facilitated by eminent scientists, adaptation experts and development planners from the region.

  • Will there be any paper presentation at the Adaptation Forum 2010?
  • No, there will be no paper presentations in this forum. But there will be a market place.

  • What is going to be there in the Adaptation Forum 2010 Market Place?
  • The Adaptation Forum 2010 Market Place will showcase dynamic and diverse range of organizations, information and knowledge products, and services on Climate Change Adaptation. It intends to be a space to meet up with other Forum participants, network, review publications and audio-video displays. Participants are required to fill-in additional section in the online registration page.

  • Is there a fee to participate in the Market Place?
  • The Market Place will be free of charge; however the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum 2010 Secretariat and partners will keep the right of decision on the appropriateness of the requested space basing on the applications received.

  • Is there any registration deadline for participation in the Adaptation Forum 2010?
  • Yes, there is a registration deadline for participation. The registration deadline for both the Forum as well as the Market Place is 15 September 2010.

  • Where can I get more information for applying a visa to Thailand?
  • Please visit the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to get all the information on: visa on arrival, which nationalities will require a visa to Thailand, any nationality that does not need a visa, visa fee, what documents are needed for visa on arrival, where Thai Consulates are in Asia and Pacific, and so on.

  • Some general information for the participants:
  • Arrival:

    All participants from outside Thailand will arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

    Transportation from the Airport:

    No airport transfer service will be provided unless a request has been made to the hotel. Use of airport metered taxi services is highly recommended. Using the metered taxi is less costly than the airport limousine. Please contact the Taxi Counter, on Level 1, near Entrances 3, 4, 7 and 8. The pick-up area is at the taxi stand on Level 1. Fares are according to the meter, with an additional THB 50 surcharge, and expressway fees, if any. The driving time from the airport to the hotel is approximately 30 minutes depending upon the traffic.

    Accommodation:

    The Millennium Hilton Bangkok Hotel, the official hotel partner of this event offers a special accommodation rates for the participants of the Forum. If any participant wants to book a room in this hotel, s/he should do so before 28 September 2010. Please check the website for details.

    Meals:

    Two refreshment breaks and a lunch will be served during the Forum.

    Language:

    All sessions will be conducted in English.

    Weather:

    With monsoon season at its end, October will be a relatively cooler month in Bangkok. The average maximum temperature during this time is 32 degree Celcius and the average minimum temperature is 18 degree Celcius.

    Electricity:

    The electric voltage in Thailand is 220 volts, 50 Hertz.

    Currency:

    The official currency of Thailand is the Thai Baht (THB). 1 US$ is approximately equals to THB 31. Currency exchange services are available at the hotel, banks and currency exchange booths scattered in the vicinity of the hotel. Please note that the use of Credit Cards is widely accepted in Bangkok.
