Description of Intervention
• Capacity building of nearly 600 officials from communes and wards, 1,110 volunteers and 4,091 teachers on planting techniques and an afforestation monitoring scheme; and
• Planting various plant species.

People in disaster prone areas in the coastal zone in Vietnam are vulnerable to increased frequency and intensity of extreme climate events

Contribute to safer communities for people living in disaster prone areas
Objectives
To increase resilience of ecosystems and people living in the coastal zone to climate induced threats (e.g., typhoons, floods and sea-level rise)
How it fits into the EbA concept
Services provided from mangroves and other plants (e.g., bamboo) not only prevent disasters, but also improve the surrounding environment and improve food security.
